Australian Virtual Reality Network (AVRN) is a NFP organisation that aims to foster innovation and develop interest in technology, specifically Virtual Reality technology and its applications in a variety of fields, including but not limited to the medical, education, engineering, mining, film and visual productions industries.
AVRN Curtin’s objective is to follow the above aspirations on a university level, by offering:
- weekly meet-ups that nurture learning for hungry tech enthusiasts and beginners alike, on VR tech and applications
- regular events including networking functions, industry presentations, Hackathons and tech developer training programs.
What is Virtual Reality (VR)?
“The computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image or environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a helmet with a screen inside or gloves fitted with sensors.” - Wikipedia.
The club is open to all, whether individuals whom have no idea what tech they want to get themselves into, hobbyists, or pros who want to expand their horizons in the tech field in industry.
