The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is one of the world’s largest engineering/technology institutions with Over 167,000 members in 150 countries. It is also the most multidisciplinary – to reflect the increasingly diverse nature of engineering in the 21st century.
The IET is working to engineer a better world by inspiring, informing and influencing our members, The IET strives to reach senior professionals, young professionals and students around the world. It is because of the latter that IET On Campus is formed.
The IET on Campus will create a community of engineering and technology students both within Curtin and with IET clubs from other universities. Curtin IET on Campus will be guided by experienced engineers and technology professionals who will offer a direct connection to industry, as well as current trends and ways to develop yourself from a student to an equipped industry professional.
The IET on Campus is a student led club, focusing on incorporating soft skills such as leadership and communication with academic skills, running both social and technical events/competitions run by students. It also offers professional development workshops which exposes members to industry professionals who share their valuable experiences.
The club will be a great opportunity for students to network with IET members within and outside of university. There’s much more to the Curtin IET on Campus than this short description!
