PAYG Parking - Curtin Responds
Last Friday, the Curtin Student Guild received an official response regarding PAYG parking being delayed until 2013. You can read the letter here.
This is not the outcome that we expected and we are not happy to settle on it. The Guild President has a meeting with the Vice Chancellor this Wednesday (16/5/2012) and will again be arguing for your rights. The Guild demands:

Tav Closed for Revamp from June 18
The Tavern will be closed from 18th June re-opening 9th July to give the Tav fresh new look. Construction will commence outside these dates where some areas won’t be accessible, we thank you for your patience.

PAYG Parking delayed....again!
After an enquiry by the Student Guild regarding PAYG, the University advised the Guild on the 1 May that PAYG Parking would not be implemented for Semester 2, 2012.
We would like to say we are surprised by this, except we really aren't. The Guild were also told that students would be notified shortly – but we are yet to see anything in the way of communications.

Common Free Time Report
Yesterday at the University's Academic Services Committee (ASC), the Student Guild presented a report on the value and need for a common free time period. The report can be found here
The ASC members supported the Guild's position that common free time should be kept. However, the pressure still needs to be kept up.
