Curtin Humanitarian Engineering International Placements (HEIP) Club

The Humanitarian Engineering International Placements (HEIP) Club is focused on not only getting University students involved in the HEIP volunteer work projects, but also in teaching its members about the skills associated with humanitarian engineering.

Description

Members will be involved in a wide range of activities including early involvement in the upcoming volunteer projects (helping with concept design, load calculations and equipment costs); language courses and regular Spanish meetups to practice conversational Spanish; hosting talks and sessions on sustainable development & humanitarian engineering and holding fundraising events and looking for corporate sponsors to help towards program costs. The Humanitarian Engineering International Placements (HEIP) Club focuses on areas of humanitarian engineering and coordination of the HEIP volunteer work programs.

HEIP Clubs’ members will learn about and be given opportunity to take part in:

  • The upcoming volunteer projects
  • Ingenieria Sin Fronteras (ISF) Argentina (helping with concept design, load calculations and equipment costs);
  • Language courses and regular Spanish meetups to practice conversational Spanish;
  • Hosting talks and sessions on sustainable development & humanitarian engineering
  • Holding fundraising events and looking for corporate sponsors to help towards program costs and or skill training.
