Guild President Liam O’Neill said that Guild affiliated clubs were a gateway to the social side of Curtin and a great way to network and meet new people.
“There are 128 registered clubs at Curtin with almost 15,500 members.
“We have academic, special interest, faith, international and issues based clubs,” he said.
Guild Games participants took part in Tug-o-War, Leader-Ball, Tunnel-Ball, Flag Relay, Wheelbarrow Race and an Inflatable Gladiator Battle. As well there was a bonus station inflatable obstacle course to determine the medal winners.
According to Liam O’Neill the success of this year bodes well for an even bigger event in 2019.
“This can really take off and become a positive expression of on campus rivalry,” he said.
“We hope to expand the day to include competitions between faculties as well as students going head to head with staff.”
The final results were:
Wooden Spoon / 7th Place: ACES Curtin
6th Place: ComSSA
5th Place: EMAS
4th Place: WiB
Bronze Medallists (3rd Place): CAMS
