safeTALK

safeTALK Suicide Alertness for Everyone – a four-hour training session that equips people to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. Participants will learn how to reach out to someone thinking about suicide and help them keep safe by promptly connecting them to further support.

Curtin Bentley Campus

Cost : Free for students , Usually $140)

Term and Conditions

Places capped at 40 and register on a first come first served basis .

All participants receive a certificate at the end.

Session delivery subject to minimum registration.

safeTALK teaches participants the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe. These steps help to:

  • Recognize how persons with thoughts of suicide are inviting us to help them stay safe
  • Engage them in a brief, direct conversation about the possibility of suicide
  • Connect them with the right kind of help so that they can receive the support and resources they need
