I’m an Anglican priest with 30 years’ experience. I’ve been a university student three times in my life, in Australia and overseas, full time and part time. Now I look after the Anglican church in the Goldfields. I visit WASM (the Western Australian School of Mines) in Kalgoorlie. I especially enjoy connecting with WASM’s many overseas students.
I’m a Christian, with progressive views. That means I enjoy the Bible without taking all of it literally (for example the bits about wives having to obey their husbands!) I approach other faiths with respect (for example Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism).
For people of all faiths and none, as a chaplain I bring a listening ear for people’s life stories. I can offer a calm and supportive presence in case of a life crisis. I can help to put people in touch with spiritual resources when they need them, to suit their situation.

I’m usually at WASM for the Wednesday lunchtime student bbq and ‘chats’ programme with students whose first language is not English.
