International Bible fellowship

Welcome to the International Bible Fellowship community at Curtin.

Welcome by Du Vinh Nham

Hi, I am Du Vinh, a Christian, a Bible-only-believing Christian and happily married to Robyn. I became Christian at university, coming at a low point to understand God’s love demonstrated in Jesus death for me, a rebel a sinner like me:

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

As the International Bible Fellowship Chaplain I am here to help and support you, by helping you to know this loving God, in His message about his loving Son, who gave himself for rebels like us. And that message brings forgiveness, change, peace and guidance from God.

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:24-27

Many of you are far from home, far from parents and families. Perhaps you are looking for answers? looking for God? or even looking to learn God’s word and to meet with His people?

If that’s you – there is good news. God is near, God has determined that you are at Curtin, and He wants you to reach out and find him! He is not far off he has spoken to us by his Son:

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. Hebrews 1:1-2

Join us each week, at any one of our many Bible meetings on campus. We welcome all (students, staff, locals and internationals) just as Jesus would welcome all to come to him.

‘God cares for us’ and we can cast all our anxieties on him, so I would be happy to listen and to pray with you. You can contact me on:

Summary of Beliefs

We believe the following core truths of the Christian faith:

  • We believe the message/gospel of the Lord Jesus, can be simply and truly summarised by Two Ways to Live.
  • Our beliefs & gospel are aligned with the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students.
  • The unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
  • The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
  • The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  • The universal sinfulness and guilt of all men since the fall, rendering them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.
  • Redemption from the guilt, penalty, dominion and pollution of sin, solely through the sacrificial death (as our representative and substitute) of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
  • The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and his ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
  • The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
  • The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone.
  • The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
  • The one holy universal Church which is the body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.
  • The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
