Thane Roberts
My name is Thane (they/them), I am running for Science and Engineering faculty representative. I am a mechanical engineering student. As a STEM student I understand the challenges in our faculty. At Curtin I have worked on many group projects, volunteered during O-week, and also for challenges abroad in Cambodia. In all these positions teamwork took precedence over individual leadership, as faculty representative I wouldn't dictate how to improve our faculty based solely on my own experience, I would go to you and learn from your experience before deciding.
I value inclusivity, friendship, and academic achievement. As faculty representative I would promote these values. If elected I will promote social and networking events, and extracurricular activities and learning opportunities for all students. Improving the learning and social environment and fostering friendships. I would work with faculty clubs and other important decision making bodies to ensure you are heard. A vote for me is a vote for better faculty.
